Diy Easy Halloween Black T Shirt Costumes Roadkill for Teenage Guys
Can you believe it's already been 10 years since the first Twilight book has come out? Stephenie Meyer just released a new edition of the book that comes with another book: Life and Death, which is basically Twilight re-written with all the genders of the characters changed. So Bella becomes Beaufort and Edward becomes Edythe. Apart from a few more names that are even more ridiculous than Renesmee, the story is exactly the same.
Anyway…
As Halloween is fast approaching and Twilight characters are always popular characters for dressing up, I've compiled this list of some really detailed replica jewellery and other accessories that are just the same as the ones worn by the characters in the movies.
These make great accessories for Halloween outfits or if you're a Twilight fan, you'll probably enjoy wearing them all through the year. They also make great gifts for fans of the series.
Twilight Engagement Ring
Here it is! The ring that has girls all over the world swooning at the thought that they could be marrying Edward Cullen. This silver engagement ring set with cubic zirconia stones is an exact replica of the one Edward gives Bella in the Eclipse movie! A must-have for die-hard Twilight fans.
Rosalie's Necklace
This necklace looks just like the one Rosalie wears in the first movie with a pendant featuring the Cullen family crest. It's made by NECA, which is the company who made the actual pieces for the movie, so you know you're getting the real thing!
Bella's Crest Ring
When Bella is accepted as part of the Cullen family, she receives this crest ring. Bella is seen wearing this ring in the New Moon movie when Alice sees a vision of her as a vampire. Every member of the Cullen family wears an item of crest jewellery so this is an important token to show she's been accepted.
Renesmee's Bracelet
This fabric bracelet is a replica of the one that Jacob gives Renesmee for Christmas and would also make a great xmas gift for you or a friend!
Edward's Wrist Cuff
This leather wrist cuff is Edwards version of the crest jewellery that every member of the Cullen family wears (this cuff is also worn by Jasper and Emmett and Bella wears a female version of it). It's a great gift for Twilight collectors or just for accessorising an outfit.
Volturi Necklace
Now this one is a good accessory for Halloween! This replica necklace looks just like the one the Volturi wear in New Moon. Just add a black cape and you have a great Halloween costume.
Twilight Immortal Perfume
Did you know there was a Twilight perfume? I did not – obviously I am not a big enough fan. If you want to smell like Bella (the scent that is completely irresistible to vampires!) this is what you need. I'm not sure it's too safe to wear on Halloween with all those vampires around though… All joking aside, this is not a cheap perfume – it smells very nice and is a great addition to any Twilight collection.
The perfume is based on the description of Bella's scent by Edward in the book – top notes of citrus and chamomile with heart notes of white freesia and peony, and base notes of oriental patchouli, amber and musk.
As much thought has gone into the bottle as creating the scent – the glass is designed to be a representation of the look and feel of vampire skin.
Twilight Breaking Dawn Bella & Edward Barbie Dolls
Ok obviously not jewellery but I had to include these! Edward's looking his usual moody self and Bella is styled as she was straight after her vampire transformation – complete with leather jacket and sparkly skin. These are official Barbie dolls and I'm actually pretty impressed at how much they look like the characters in the movie. You can also get Bella in her wedding dress and the whole family of Cullens, along with Jacob and all the other major characters. See all the Twilight Barbies here.
It's the little details that really make a great Halloween costume. Even a plain black dress can look incredibly scary and spooky if you spend time getting your makeup right and accessorise with some of this Halloween themed jewellery.
These are also great gifts to give in goody bags at a Halloween party or as an alternative to sweets for trick-or-treaters
All these Halloween earrings, bracelets and necklaces are made of good quality materials so they don't look cheap and tacky. In fact you could wear them at any time of year if you tend towards the dark side of fashion and look great with gothic outfits or out clubbing.
Antique Silver Gothic Skull Bangle
A subtly scary and beautiful silver bangle with skulls on each end. Ideal to accessorise gothic or Halloween outfits.
Sugar Skulls Tile bracelet
This colourful and quirky bracelet is great to wear at any time of the year, not just Halloween. Makes a great Halloween souvenir for kids or teenagers.
Mummy Cufflinks
This is a great men's Halloween accessory if you're attending a sophisticated Halloween party or need to dress formally for work but want to inject a bit of spooky fun in a subtle way.
Vampire Blood Vial Neclace
No vampire can be without their emergency supply of blood and this bat blood necklace makes an ideal Halloween accessory for a vampire costume. Also includes a silver bat charm and the 'blood' is actually resin so no need to worry about it leaking!
Vampire lips Necklace
A bit of bling for girly vampire lovers. This necklace features a pair of red lips with sparkly piercing and gold fangs.
Halloween Pandora Charm – Ghost
If you or a friend collects Pandora charms, you just have to buy this cute little ghost Halloween charm. It's made from .925 sterling silver and designed to be compatible with Pandora bracelets and other similar charm bracelets such as Chamilia, Biagi and Trollbeads.
Halloween Pandora Charm – Pumpkin
Another cute Halloween Pandora charm which could be mixed with other Halloween-themed charms for a Halloween bracelet or just mixed with any other charms. It's made from .925 sterling silver and makes a great present for a friend who loves Halloween!
Day of The Dead Keyrings
Ok, not strictly jewellery but I had to include these Halloween Day of The Dead Sugar. They are so cute and cheap and would make great little party gifts or goodies for trick or treaters.
Black Cat Halloween Stud Earrings
I love these cute cat earrings. They're great for Halloween but don't look too costume-ish or gothic so you could wear them with any outfit at any time of the year. Suitable for adults or kids with pierced ears. Earrings measure about 10mm across.
Silver Spider Web Earrings
These spiderweb earrings are obviously great for Halloween and would look perfect with a witch costume, but they're also stylish enough to be worn at any time of the year. They're great quality, made from 925 sterling silver and come in a little gift box so they'd also be great to give as a gift.
Black Lace Gothic Vampire Bracelet and Chain Ring
This elegant gothic wrist piece looks so delicate and detailed, I really can't believe how cheap it is. It would make the ideal accessory for a vampire costume or dress up any gothic outfit.
Twilight Breaking Dawn Bella's Wrist Cuff
What girl doesn't want to be Bella for Halloween? That is Bella Cullen from Breaking Dawn Part 2, after she's been turned into a vampire! This wrist cuff is an exact replica of the one Bella wears in the movie and is a perfect Halloween accessory for a Twilight Bella dressing up costume.
Antique Copper Vampire Fangs Necklace
I'm sure you know a vampire lover who would happily wear this necklace on every day of the year, not just at Halloween. It makes the perfect accessory for a vampire costume or just as everyday jewellery with a gothic vibe.
Violet Darkling Hypnotic Loris Rhodium Plated Blue Topaz Ring
There's something really scary about this topaz ring from cult gothic designer jewellery Brand Violet Darkling. Plated in black rhodium, this ring would make an extra special gift for a gothic lady in your life. There is really something hypnotic about this ring – the more I look at it, the more I want it! See other Violet Darkling designer jewellery pieces here.
Gothic Vampire Lace necklace
This beautiful and elegant gothic neckpiece is just the thing to finish off a sophisticated vampire outfit (wear it with the cuff/bracelet earlier in this list and the gothic vampire queen gown on this page. You won't believe how cheap this necklace is – just click the button above and have a look! It looks really expensive but is actually a super cheap way to accessorise any dress and make it look really gothic and amazing.
Twilight Breaking Dawn Rosalie's Necklace
Ok hands up if you're a fan of the Twilight series! Twilight character costumes are really easy to pull off because they basically wear normal clothes and the look is all in the makeup and the details like this replica necklace that is exactly like the one Rosalie wears in the movie Breaking Dawn.
Mens Stainless Steel Halloween Skull Earrings
I've titled these as men's earrings but of course they're unisex and would look great with any Halloween outfit or gothic look. They're made from stainless steel and are proper piercing jewellery so suitable to wear on any part of the body with the correct gauge.
Children's Silver Pumpkin Ring
This cute ring makes a great gift around Halloween time, maybe if you know a little girl with a birthday around Halloween, like my daughter! It's adjustable size and fits from E up. Made of 925 sterling silver, it comes in a gift box.
Halloween Multicolour Skulls Bracelet
I think this bracelet is one of my favourite pieces in this whole list. I love that it's so colourful and would make an eyecatching and quirky accessory at any time of the year. It's also great for kids and really cheap – I think I'll be giving these out as treats to trick or treaters this year! (p.s. these are being sold for 10x the price in certain highstreet fashion shops!) The beads aren't plastic, they're actually made out of stones. It's a really unique and fun bracelet for kids or adults.
Antique Silver Day of The Dead Sugar Skull Pendant
This is a gorgeous statement necklace that could be worn any time of the year but the fact that it's a skull makes it great for accessorising any outfit at Halloween! The pendant measures approximately 3 inches by 2.5 inches and the chain is 70cm long in a twisted rope style. This skull pendant is amazing value for money and great quality for the price.
Using makeup can be a really effective and cost-effective way of creating a scary Halloween costume. However many of the looks showcased by popular beauty and special fx makeup artists use lots of different makeup that can be quite expensive if you end up buying all of it.
I noticed there are some really cool makeup sets around this year that have all you need to create some spooky and effective looks at a very reasonable price. Here are some of the best:
The Grudge Makeup Kit
The Japanese do horror films really well and a costume based off one of the scary ghosts in a movie like The Grudge is sure to freak people out and impress your friends this Halloween. This is one of the easiest Halloween fancy dress ideas out there – you can simply wrap yourself in a white sheet! If you don't have long black hair then you'll need a wig, but what really makes this look is the makeup.
This kit contains:
- Stargazer white liquid foundation
- Black Compact eyeshadow
- Laval Kohl eyeliner
- Scary white contact lenses
Glow in the Dark Skeleton Makeup Kit
A skeleton is another really easy costume to create. You can either paint bones onto a tight fitting black t-shirt and leggings or just buy a Halloween onesie with a skeleton theme if you're feeling lazy.
This kit includes glow in the dark facepaint which makes your look even scarier, particularly if you jump out at somebody in the dark!
The set includes:
- Glow in the dark cream
- Black crayon
- 3 facepaints in black, white and green
- Brush
- Sponge applicator
- Instructions
Halloween Ghost and Skeleton Makeup Set
This is a great Halloween makeup kit that can be used for lots of different looks including a ghost, skeleton, or any fancy dress that requires a face made up in black and white. The kit includes:
- White foundation
- Snazaroo grey facepaint
- Black lipstick
Killer Clown Makeup Kit
This one terrifies me because I have a real phobia of clowns! Never mind killer clowns, normal old clowns are scary enough! Clown makeup is pretty easy to do so this is a good choice of kit if you don't find yourself very skilled in the application. The look is really made by the scary teeth and fake blood.
Kit includes:
- Facepaint in black, white and red
- Liquid latex
- Fake blood
- Clown nose
- Horror teeth fangs
- Applicator sponge
Broken Doll Makeup Kit
A broken or creepy doll has become a very popular fancy dress theme for Halloween, probably because it looks a lot prettier and sexier than most Halloween costumes so you can look scary without sacrificing your attractiveness. There's a great costume to go with this look on our list of Halloween costumes for women.
This set includes:
- Face paint palette with 4 shades of pink and white
- 2 pairs of false eyelashes and adhesive
- 2 tattoos (to create a cracked effect on your face)
- Black eyeliner pencil.
Halloween Joker Makeup Kit
The Joker has always been a popular outfit for Halloween and since Heath Ledger tragically died in the middle of filming his role of The Joker in the Batman film The Dark Knight, it has become even more so.
This kit includes:
- White liquid foundation
- Black eyeshadow pen
- Red lipstick
- Green hair mascara
Zipper Face Halloween Makeup Kit
The zipper face effect has become a very popular Halloween makeup look which looks really impressive and scary when done right. It's also versatile and easy to personalise as you can makeup your face however you want under the zipper – zombie, vampire and werewolf are all popular options.
This kit includes all you need to complete the look:
- Zipper
- Fang putty base and catalyst
- Fangs
- Spirit gum
- Spirit gum remover
- White and red facepaint
- Brush
- 2 sponge applicators
A pale white face forms the basis for many different costume ideas. Vampires, zombies, dead people, witches, ghosts etc etc – they all have unnaturally white faces. Luckily it's pretty easy to make your face white on Halloween night, even without makeup, and there are several ways you can do so – some using items that you can find around your house so you won't even have to go shopping!
1.White face paint
If you're after a solid white base that looks completely white, rather than just pale skin colour, going for a commerical white Halloween face paint is your best option.
Face paints can vary widely in coverage and quality, so don't just buy a cheap Halloween kids makeup as it will probably make you break out in spots because it's so greasy and rub and sweat off over the course of the night.
Good quality Halloween face paint doesn't have to be expensive. Snazaroo is a very popular and inexpensive brand that's used by many professional special fx makeup artists. It's water-based and comes in a cake so it's easy to apply – you just use a damp sponge and dab it onto your skin.
If you prefer a creamy paint that can be applied without water, go for the Snazaroo face paint in clown white. This can either be applied with a sponge or with a brush, making it ideal for painting small details, but it does feel a little greasier than the dry version and you'll want to make sure you set it with some powder after application.
Once you've finished applying your white makeup, it's important to set it with powder for a matte finish and to stop it from rubbing off too easily. Stargazer loose white powder is ideal for this as it's easy to apply. You can also use the powder on its own if you want a more subtle pale-skin effect.
If your face is painted in colours other than white, then go for the translucent version of the powder to set your makeup.
2. pale foundation
Not all costumes work best with a completely white face. Some costume ideas like vampires, work better if your skin is still a natural colour, but just very pale. This looks more realistic and somehow manages to make your whole costume more scary. If this is the look you're going for, it's better to choose a very pale foundation rather than using white face paint.
If you're going for a realistic Halloween makeup look with foundation, it's important to use a primer first for a flawless look. This will help to make your skin smooth and blend out imperfections before you apply the foundation so you can get that perfect porcelain skin that vampires and creatures of the night possess.
W7 Prime Magic Camera Ready Face Primer is Amazon's bestselling primer, with hundreds of 5-star reviews. It's also one of the cheapest foundation primers on the market so it's a real bargain! Rimmel Match Perfection in Light Porcelain is a great choice of foundation for this look because it's several shades lighter than the lightest shade of other brands and provides excellent coverage. To make it even paler you could add a light dusting of white powder on top.
If you want a white face for Halloween but don't like the feel of face paint on your skin, you could also choose a white foundation. Stargazer liquid foundation in white is used by professional makeup artists and gives a sheer white coverage that's somewhere in between full white and just pale skin. You can also mix it with your normal foundation for a paler look.
3. Talcum Powder or Corn Flour
If you're throwing together a last minute Halloween costume and just want to make your face white with something you've already got around the house, talcum powder or corn flour should do the job. It won't cover as well as white face paint but it should make your face sufficiently pale to pass as a zombie or a vampire or whatever you're dressing up as.
Make sure to moisturise your face well beforehand so that the powder sticks to your face.
4. Homemade White Face Paint
For more coverage than plain powder, or if you're worried about the chemicals in Halloween makeup that you're putting on your kids, you can make your own white facepaint by mixing your normal moisturiser or skin lotion with corn flour and a little water until you reach a nice consistency with decent coverage. You can also add food colouring to make coloured facepaint.
5. Sudocrem
If you have kids at home you most likely have a pot of Sudocrem antiseptic ointment lying around or if not, you can easily pick one up at your local supermarket (it's well worth it as it's useful for so many things – cuts, burns, rashes etc). This thick greasy cream has great coverage if you want to make your face white and although it feels greasy when it goes on, it actually dries out your skin and has the added bonus of helping to clear up spots and it has a lovely lavender scent. Again it's best if you finish off with a dusting of powder to set.
Getting dressed up for Halloween is loads of fun but what's even more fun is finding two complementary ideas for costumes that you can wear as a couple. Whether you're looking for an idea for costumes to attend a Halloween party with your husband or you're searching for cute things to be for Halloween with your best friend, there are lots of scary, funny and cute ideas here to give you inspiration:
Jack and Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas
The Nightmare Before Christmas tells the tale of Jack Skellington, pumpkin king of Halloween town, who discovers Christmas town and decides to kidnap Santa. Sally is a living rag doll who is in love with Jack.
Jack and Sally Halloween costumes are quite unusual but most people have seen the movie so you should be instantly recognisable, especially if you go as a couple.
This Jack Skellington costume is very true to how the character looks in the movie: If you're on a budget, you can create your own costume fairly easily by searching charity shops for a black and white pinstripe jacket and pairing with black trousers, a white undershirt and white gloves, that most of us will either have in the house already or can be bought cheaply. Then finish off the look with a Jack Skellington mask like this one: if you're not keen on wearing masks then you could also create a Jack Skellington face yourself using makeup:
The matching Sally costume is equally authentic, with a patchwork dress, gloves and red wig. You'll need to buy some white tights and find a pair of black boots to wear to complete the outfit:
This costume didn't look quite right to me when I first saw it and I couldn't figure out why, then I realised that it's really the makeup that makes this costume. As long as you get the makeup right, you can probably get away with wearing any dress!
Shrek and Princess Fiona
Another famous cartoon couple that make a great idea for costumes for Halloween. These costumes contain all you need including a Shrek mask and princess Fiona's wig.
Alice in Wonderland and The Mad Hatter
Alice is one of those costumes that you can either make cute and girly or you can create a "Dark" Alice for Halloween or even a zombie Alice in Wonderland, with makeup. Whatever look you go for, the base costume is the same, and this Alice dress is perfect worn with some stripy stockings and a blonde wig:
The Mad Hatter is of course the perfect accompanying costume to go with Alice. This is a really fun costume to wear and if you don't have the budget to buy the whole Mad Hatter costume, just get the hat and deconstruct an old brown or tweed suit (easily picked up in a charity shop) to look a bit whacky:
Daenerys Targaryen and Drogon the dragon from game of thrones
A few years ago, the must-have Game of Thrones Halloween costume was Khaleesi and Khal Drogo, but The Mother of Dragons has changed quite a lot since then and Khal Drogo popped his clogs a while ago. Luckily there are plenty of Daenerys costumes featuring her latest look (or you could make one yourself with a long blue dress and a blonde wig):
Now there's not going to be a way around looking slightly comical dressed as a dragon for Halloween, so this is more of a funny costume than a scary one. Alternatively if you're ditching your other half or can persuade him to go as another character (John Snow is a popular and easy one), you could just buy this highly detailed Drogon plush toy as a prop: If you do get roped into dressing up as Drogon, then you're probably going to end up in something like this…. sorry!
Little Red Riding Hood and The Wolf
This is another costume where you can choose between making it sweet and sexy or dark and scary. Again, the man gets the short straw but at least there are some pretty convincing and scary wolf costumes out there.
This is the best wolf costume that I found that's actually the big bad wolf wearing Granny's nightdress. This actually makes it scarier!
Corpse bride and groom
A perfectly creepy costume idea for newlyweds that can be made completely terrifying with clever makeup.
Love them or hate them, you can't deny that onesies are comfortable and at a time like Halloween when everyone is out in costume and won't question what you wear, it's the perfect time to wear them out in public! So whether you just want to wear your pajamas down to the shop or you're looking for an easy Halloween costume this year, here are our pick of cute and spooky onesies for grownups:
Cat onesie
I think this onesie is supposed to be cute but there's something terrifying about it all the same. This onesie comes in four sizes based on height and fits up to 190cm tall.
Roadkill Onesie
b
After something a little more terrifying? This roadkill costume comes complete with tyre track print and looks perfect for Halloween with some scary makeup
Bat onsie
This bat costume is cute but still suitably spooky for Halloween. Made of flannel, it's comfortable enough to sleep in.
Superman Onesie
Want to play dress-up like you did when you were a kid? this superman onesie is just like the children's costumes in an adult size. It's an instant costume that's suitable for Halloween or a fancy dress party at any other time of the year. You might even like to wear it for lazing around the house on a Sunday!
Pikachu onesie
Here's a cute one – why not dress up as everyone's favourite Pokémon for Halloween? This comfortable flannel onesie also works great as cosy pyjamas.
Monsters Inc Sulley Onesie
you're a monster so you're good to go for halloween but you're still a cute monster! This onesie looks exactly like one of those novelty onesies for babies, blown up to adult size. If you're a fan of the Monsters inc movie, you have to get this costume. Actually my little girl could almost pass for Boo, so I'm thinking about it for myself!
Despicable Me Minions Onesie
This onesie somehow manages to look halfway like a normal outfit while still being obvious that you're dressed up as a cartoon character. A great outfit for Halloween, fancy dress parties or to delight your kids.
Stitch onesie
Are you sensing a theme here? It just seems that cartoon characters make great onesie costumes. I love Lilo and Stitch and Stitch is technically a scary criminal alien monster thing, so this is a highly appropriate costume for Halloween, no matter how cute it looks!
Cheshire Cat Onesie
If your partner or friend is dressing as Alice from Alice in Wonderland for Halloween, this Cheshire Cat outfit would make a wonderful matching costume. You just can't beat pink stripes! and it has a tail!
Skeleton Onesie
ok back to the not so cute onesies with this Halloween classic – the skeleton. Many skeleton costumes are tight and form fitting, which you don't necessarily want unless you have an amazing body. Wearing this onesie lets you look like a skeleton without being self conscious.
Jack Skellington Nightmare Before Christmas Onesie
Another skeleton onesie, this one inspired by the character Jack Skellington from the animated movie, Nightmare Before Christmas. Always a popular theme for Halloween.
Devil Onesie
A great unisex Halloween onesie that could be cute or scary, depending on the makeup you wear with it. Sure to inspire some laughs at your next Halloween party!
Novelty contact lenses are an easy way to transform a run-of-the-mill costume into something really impressively spooky and scary. Not sure that contact lenses would make much difference? Just have a look at the zombie makeup tutorial video on this page and see how the lenses really make the overall look.
A few years back it was really difficult to get special fx contact lenses in the UK and they'd often have to be imported from the USA. Now there is a lot more choice and prices have come down too, making it within everyone's reach to get some affordable contact lenses to complete their Halloween costume.
Here's a little roundup I did of some spooky Halloween lenses, all available within the UK at very reasonable prices:
Green cat eye lenses
Dressing up as a cat can be a really quick and simple Halloween costume but you can really transform the look into something special with some carefully applied makeup and most importantly, cat eye contact lenses.
Red contact lenses
Red contact lenses look really creepy and can be used for a wide range of Halloween costume ideas such as zombie, vampire or devil.
White out blind lenses
These lenses will white out your eyes completely, making you look blind. They're ideal for zombie, corpse bride or dead girl type Halloween costumes and just look really freaky! Or maybe you could go as Arya Stark from the end of Game of Thrones season 5?
Bleeding eyes lenses
The design on these contact lenses makes it look like your eyes are filling up with blood. They're ideal for zombie or vampire costumes or to freak someone out, just wear them with your normal clothes and act like everything is normal!
amber contact lenses
These amber-coloured contact lense are just perfect if you're dressing up as Bella Swan or any of the Twilight vampires as it looks like the colour of their eyes when they've just feasted on blood. To really freak out your friends you could switch to the red contact lenses later in the night!
Orange glow in the dark contact lenses
Any orange lenses would make a great addition to your Halloween costume but these ones are extra special because they glow in the dark! They're also available in different colours for different effects. Prepare to scare!
Dilated pupil lenses
These lenses are quite subtle but enough to freak people out without them being sure why at first. They make it look as if you have huge pupils, with a pale gold coloured iris. You could use these lenses with a doll costume to emulate big doll eyes, or with a range of other fancy dress ideas.
Red spiderweb lenses
Plain red lenses not freaky enough for you? try these spiderweb lenses that would look impressive as part of a witch, demon, or spiderman or spidergirl outfit.
White contact lenses
These are simple lenses but one of the most effective looks. Just popping in these lenses will transform you into something truly terrifying. They're perfect for zombie costumes.
Hypnotic eye lenses
Look into my eyes… these black and white swirly lenses are sure to freak out your friends. Go to your Halloween party as normal and then pop them in while you're in the bathroom for maximum fright potential!
Black contact lenses
These plain black lenses are another really freaky look. If you ever watched Buffy the vampire slayer, these make your eyes just like Willow's when she goes crazy powerful from too much magic. Now there's an idea for a Halloween costume!
Ok I have to admit that the thought of dressing up for Halloween while I was pregnant never even crossed my mind. I did my fair share of dressing them up in cute pumpkin onesies but it was such a struggle finding even normal clothes that fit and were comfortable when I was the size of a house, the idea of wearing a Halloween costume was just unthinkable. However I think if I'd been living in a country that actually celebrated Halloween at the time, I might have got more into the spirit of things.
Plus I found some really cute and funny pregnancy Halloween costumes, especially designed for pregnant women so they'd be just as comfortable as your normal clothing.
If you're sporting a bump this Halloween, why not consider one of these great costumes. I'd love to see a photo if you have a costume with a bump, so please send me one over!
pumpkin belly
This adult pumpkin costume is an XL one size fits all so is great for pregnant bellies. you could wear it just as it comes or accessorise with some black and orange striped tights and an orange wig.
Or you could just paint your belly! If you're pregnant at Halloween, I think you have to do this, even if you just take a photo! Image from maternity gallery
Mother and baby skeleton t-shirt
Variations on this theme seem to be the most popular idea for a maternity Halloween costume and I can see why – it's cute, it's easy and comfortable and still a bit spooky and halloweeny. This t-shirt comes in several different colours and sizes and as it's just a normal tee, you can wear it whenever you want – it doesn't just have to be for Halloween.
Pregnant nun
Ok so you have to have a bit of a sense of humour to wear this one and maybe be careful who's going to be at the party so you don't offend anyone, but you have to admit it's a funny costume! This one actually comes with a fake belly but you obviously won't need it. A great anytime costume that can be worn to fancy dress parties at any time of the year.
Baymax Big Hero 6 Costume
If you've reached that stage in your pregnancy where you just feel like a giant blob, embrace it! Halloween onesies like this Big Hero 6 Baymax costume aren't specifically designed for maternity but it's big and roomy and comfortable and will actually look better when you're pregnant. Basically the bigger and rounder you are, the better!
Pregnant zombie
Well if you really want to freak people out, this is the one! It's also a really easy costume to create on your own. You just need an old t-shirt and a doll. Full details at coolest homemade costumes
There's nothing cuter than a little chubby baby or toddler in a Halloween costumes. Some of the best kids costumes this year are for babies and it's almost making me wish I had another one just so I could have fun dressing them up!
Most toddlers won't really get the point of Halloween and while some like dressing up, others would rather be naked! You don't want to have to deal with a grumpy screaming toddler on Halloween night so it's important to make sure the costumes you buy are comfortable and easy to put on.
Luckily costume designers aren't stupid and most fancy dress designed for young children is comfortable enough for sleeping in. If you don't think you can get away with a full blown costume, there are plenty of Halloween-themed onesies and sleepsuits to choose from so you can get into the Halloween spirit with your little one with the minimum of fuss.
